The History of LA’s Arts District

The Arts District, which can be found directly to the east of Downtown Los Angeles, has, within a few short decades, blossomed into a thriving metropolis. Once known as the Warehouse District due to the number of industrial buildings that fill out its landscape, this part of Los Angeles has become, in recent years, one of the places to be. Home to a plethora of artists and creative types, the Arts District is humming with original, fresh ideas. And while commercial premises remain an integral part of the local setting, they now serve a different purpose. These days, the warehouses, or at least many of them, have been converted into residential dwellings, many with loft-style apartments.
